“And Balak’s anger was kindled against Balaam and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times! Therefore now, flee unto thy place. I thought to promote thee unto great honor; but lo, the Lord hath kept thee back from honor.” ~Numbers 24:10-11
The Lord…??? So often we hear this blatant deception. It makes us feel towards God that He is not who He says He is. It distorts our view of Him. It is not the Lord who keeps us back from honor, but rather the Lord who has a more honorable place for us to be. To hear Satan’s accusation against God and take it to heart is treason against the King of Kings, and evidence of a shaken, un-proven faith. Let us stand fast in our faith, trusting and recalling that His greatest means of honoring us will be contrary to our fleshly inclinations. His ways are not our ways.
Let Him honor you as He should choose!
